EIT InnoEnergy was set up in 2010 and co-funded by the EU to accelerate Europe’s energy transition. EIT InnoEnergy is the leading innovation engine in sustainable energy, bringing the technology and skills required to accelerate the green deal and Europe’s decarbonization goals.
European Green Hydrogen Acceleration Center (EGHAC) was founded in 2020 by EIT InnoEnergy. EGHAC creates industrial players by helping to de-risk and accelerate their green hydrogen (and derivatives) projects. EGHAC does this through early-stage investment and acceleration services delivered in collaboration with its ecosystem. Key to their success is the value chain approach; by bringing all stakeholders together, including off-takers, the risks and benefits can be shared so that the premium for a carbon-free produced end-product is kept to a minimum.

The European Green Hydrogen Acceleration Center (EGHAC), an initiative of InnoEnergy, supports the creation of eFuel companies in sectors that are hard to decarbonize, such as GravitHy and FertigHy. EGHAC has been working for 18 months to establish several eFuel producers in Europe, covering all aspects of the value chain: biogenic CO2 sources, land acquisition, grid access, market engagement, and technology assessment. EGHAC follows the European regulations that shape the eFuel industry. EGHAC will share its findings on the Spanish case, which is unexpectedly challenging, and invite you to explore potential solutions.

3 Persons from InnoEnergy will present the case:
-    Dr. Álvaro Ramírez Santos – Green Hydrogen Technical Project Manager
-    João Oliveira – Project Development Manager (Portugal)
-    Hortense Becheux – Project Development Manager (Spain, France)
