Javier is business manager and board member of Julius Baer Agencia de Valores, S.A.U., a fully owned subsidiary of The Julius Baer Group (BAER:SW).



Prior to studying his MBA at IESE, he worked as an analyst in New York for SNL Financial (currently S&P Global Financial Data). Upon leaving IESE, in 1998, he joined Citibank in Spain under the management associate program. He became in 2004 head of investment products at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management in Spain and later on at Caixabank, following its acquisition of Morgan Stanley’s division. He joined Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in 2011 as sales manager of the Spanish business, subsequently acquired in July 2013 by the Julius Baer Group.



In addition, he has been teaching behavioral finance at IEB (Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles) in Madrid, CFA sessions at both CUNEF and IEB, and portfolio management at IE’s (Instituto de Empresa) in Madrid.



Apart from the MBA at IESE, Javier holds a B.B.A degree from The College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia (U.S.A.), is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, and a CFA and CIPM charterholder.
