Our very special guest-speaker for this last Global Leadership Series (GLS) event, Hubertus von Baumbach, is Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors of Boehringer Ingelheim, a company with a rich 140-year heritage of commitment to constant innovation and operational excellence in creating breakthrough medical therapies, increasingly also for mental diseases.

Boehringer Ingelheim is one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies, and the largest privately owned, with annual revenues exceeding $20 billion.

As a privately held entity, Boehringer Ingelheim is shielded from the short-term pressures of public markets. This allows the families to focus on long-term goals, such as investing in research and development, which accounts for nearly 20% of the company’s annual revenue. This structure has also enabled the company to navigate economic downturns and industry disruptions with resilience.
