Alfa Fundación

Julia Moreira currently serves as Executive Director of Alfa Fundación, part of Grupo Alfa, one of Mexico´s largest conglomerates with operations in 17 countries. She leads the community outreach programs, as Alfa Fundación is an operating non-for profit institution. She has overseen the implementation of an innovative educational project dedicated to advancing education for talented students in under-privileged areas of Monterrey. The program has been in operation almost 8 years, having grown to 3 middle schools and 1 high school, with a total of more than 2000 students in the system.  She is passionate about the project, having been responsible for it from developing the idea, planning the process and establishing on the ground operations. Julia is also responsible for cooperation with other non-profits that Alfa Fundación supports.  

Gaining knowledge and becoming highly interested in education and the clear impact it has on the development of the country, Julia currently serves on various boards for educational institutions in Monterrey.

Prior to her 15 years at Alfa, Julia spent time at Bain and Company, working on consulting projects in both Dallas, TX and Johannesburg, South Africa. She also worked for Citibank´s Monterrey office in corporate banking.

Julia has a BS in Chemical Engineering from ITESM in Monterrey, Mexico, an MBA from Stanford University in the USA and a PhD from ESADE in Barcelona

Jaime de Jaraíz (Madrid, 1967) is the President and CEO of LG Electronics Iberia.



Degree in Law from the Universidad Complutense, MBA from Houston University and PDG from IESE. Jaime joined the Spanish subsidiary of the Korean company in 2005 as Director of the Consumer Electronics Division, after a long professional career at Philips Ibérica. Two years later, he was appointed Chief Commercial Officer and, later, Vice President. After having assumed the position of President and CEO of LG Electronics Canada in 2013, becoming the only foreign president of its international divisions, he returned to Spain in 2015 to lead the company in Spain and Portugal until today.

Over the past 25 years Ashish has been recognized for his private / public sector contributions with awards such as – MIT Innovate for Refugees (Syrian refugees) award, Young Global Leader (World Economic Forum), Minority Business Leader (Twin Cities Business), 40 under 40 (Business Journal), Change-Makers Innovator Award (Coding Schools in Refugee Camps in East Africa) and Battery Ventures Innovation Award – Democratic Republic of Congo (for Asili: a mobile / cloud-based business focused on reducing infant child mortality, improving maternal health and increasing livelihood in conflict zones).

Ashish has a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering from Bombay University, MBA in Finance and Marketing from the Carlson School and Executive Education in Global Leadership and Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School.

Maryam Montague is a social entrepreneur who has devoted her career to international development, with 25+ years’ experience in over 30 countries in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. An Ashoka Fellow, Ms. Montague is passionate about youth organizing, and the organization she founded, Project Soar, won the 2020 With and For Girls Award in the Education and Leadership Category. Project Soar currently is working in Morocco, Uganda and Syria, and the Project Soar Solution has provided 170,100+ hours of empowerment to 3,402 teen girls at 28 locations.  Ms. Montague has been cited in 100+ media, including CNN and the BBC World. In August 2018, the New York Times devoted their Saturday Profile to her work -- a weekly profile on an individual who is “influencing events around the world.”
