Carlota has more than 15 years of experience in the energy sector in Spain, US and Germany, both in generation and commercialization of electricity and gas. She was Professor of Efficiency and Renewable Energy at University of Barcelona and graduated from IESE EMBA in 2009 where she also met her cofounders.Mother of three and winner of several awards like Top Executive of the Year 2018 by “Asociación de Empresarios y Directivos (AED)” or “Premio Rei Jaume I” on Entrepreneurship in 2019, Carlota describes herself as an optimist and a fighter for a world with equal opportunities for everyone.

With this philosophy, she is working to include more women in top leadership positions in the energy industry.

On December 2019, Holaluz debuted on the stock market with a capitalization of 160 million euros and at the end of their first day the share price was up by 15%.

IESE Business School

Mireia Giné is Associate Professor at the Financial Management Department of IESE. She has a BA in Economics and Master in Economics from Pompeu Fabra University. She received her doctorate from the University of Barcelona after several years at MIT and the University of Pennsylvania.

Mireia specializes in corporate governance, executive compensation, mergers and acquisitions. Currently, she investigates how common ownership of institutional shareholders impacts the corporate decisions of companies in their portfolio. Her research has been published in the Journal of Finance, Review of Finance, Harvard Business Review among other academic journals, as well as in various media (Financial Times, The Economist, Bloomberg, BBC). She has received several international prizes such as the Brattle Prize and has presented her research at prestigious universities and congresses in finance (WFA, EFA, AFA, NBER, etc.).

Prior to joining IESE, she worked for more than a decade at The Wharton School as director of Research at Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS), a global financial reference platform serving more than 450 academic and financial institutions. Mireia joined the start-up phase and currently she directs the group’s international operations.

From an early age , Delia had a clear idea that she wanted to help society. After obtaining my master’s degree in clinical psychology, she realized that she did not only want to help on microlevel, but also on macrolevel. She therefore pursued a second master’s in management with a clear mission to help society to create an environment where everyone feels included and can benefit from the potential of diversity.

She is currently a researcher and corporate trainer on diversity and inclusion. She has also founded an all-female divers’ community in Belgium to inspire and empower women into diving, still a male-oriented sport. With 100+members they regularly organize dives together all over Belgium and the Netherlands.

She is a passionate leader who empowers teams to finding ways to solve the right problems in ways that delight through their simplicity, effectiveness and integrity. As a design executive, Pamela has brought customer focus to innovation and agile product development practices, working in areas that include connected cars, urban mobility, video and communication services, financial services, and health care. She is currently exploring the intersection between design, research and data. She believes it is essential that designers participate deeply in building new practices that incorporate design ethics, as well as social and cultural implications in anticipating the future(s) we are creating.
