ROOTS 2026
Curious about Christianity or wanting to deepen your knowledge in the Christian faith? Prof. Íñigo Gallo, in collaboration with the Core Club, is launching ROOTS 2026, a discussion group about the Christian faith: 7 Sessions starting on Feb 2nd
How do we make this work?
Talking about religion is many times tricky. Our hope is that these 7 sessions are interesting and pleasant. The goal is not to convince anyone to believe this or that. The goal is to present what Christianity proposes as an answer to some of the key questions and have thought-provoking conversations about topics that matter to us and – if you’re reading this – chances are, they also matter to you.
For this, we will try to make sure the following etiquette is respected.
1. Being constructive. Comments directed at other students need to be constructive rather than destructive. Do not attempt to deliberately ridicule or humiliate another student for a comment made in class, no matter how subtle your attempt may be.
2. Not to monopolize. Do your best to convey your opinion or comment as concisely as possible. Very interesting things can be said in very few words. This is also a demonstration of respect to other people and their opinions.
3. Stay on topic. We have seven sessions, dedicated to seven themes. We are aware that there are many other interesting things to discuss, and you may have interesting takes on many or all of these. But we cannot discuss everything. Let’s all do our best to stick to the topic of the day.
4. No laptops, or tablets, or phones. These are talks + discussions that require everyone’s full attention. We have nothing against technology except that it’s so interesting that we sometimes have a hard time paying attention when this technology is present. It will distract you, it will distract others in the session, and it will distract us. As a consequence, the quality of the conversation will go down.
5. Arriving on time. We will start promptly at 1PM. In return, we will do our absolute best to end the session by 1.50PM. We will be happy to stay afterwards to engage in further conversation.
