Details
As the 4th industrial revolution cuts through every sector, the energy sector, though ranking among the biggest of global industries, continues lagging behind in keeping pace with the revolution. Despite the ongoing transition to cleaner and decentralized supply solutions, digitalization of every facet of the energy value chain is disrupting the traditional business models. Opportunities are being created across the supply and demand sides of the energy divide. The focus, until now, has been on the supply side; to meet growing energy demands in a sustainable way. However, as key energy consumers trend towards net producers, or become prosumers, where should the focus lie? What role do prosumers have to play in the quest for decarbonising the world while keeping pace with the growing energy demand?
