IESE’s second Family Business Conference will be held on March 31, 2017 on IESE’s Barcelona campus. The theme will be Successful Transition and Sustainable Impact. It will feature family businesses members and professionals from around the world. Lecturers will be discussing their succession stories as well as the role of family businesses in society, while workshops will offer family business members a first-rate platform to share their experience and knowledge. As a participant, you can learn first-hand of successful transition stories from those directly involved and discover the important role of Family Business within society.
In the 20th century, family businesses played a major role in worldwide economic development. The phenomenon of industrialization cannot be fully understood without the contribution made by family businesses, as many industrial conglomerates started out as family-run organizations. The continued success of these corporations shows that family-run businesses are not a thing of the past, but still play a prominent role and will remain a fundamental part of the global economy in the future.
