Hi
First_Name,
RBC Letter to Members
The purpose of this letter is to celebrate our club successes in 2013, update you on our club activities for 2014, and most importantly, prepare for our club and DGDW conference succession.
Fall 2013 Highlights
- Recruited 73 new club members from the MBA class of 2015 (25% of the whole 1st year MBA class!)
- Sent 2 club members to the Net Impact conference in San Francisco (John Henry, 2nd year MBA and Laura Lin, 1st year MBA). Last year we had none.
- Published 4 club blog posts which is the same number as all other clubs combined
- Held 4 club events including the Kick Off meeting in September, the Responsible Career Session and dinner with Randle Krantz (RBC Founder), and career presentations with CHAI and Emzingo. Each event was well attended with an average of 30 students.
Spring 2014 Outlook
- DGDW 2014 will take place on Feb 21 – 22 as the largest student run conference in Europe on social and sustainable issues. If you would like to volunteer during the event please send an email to Noriel Flores asap. Volunteers pay a reduced entry fee of €25 whereas the normal student discounted price is €40. There is also the Multi Culti bundle for €60.
- Internship Panel on March 6 will feature 5 2nd year MBA students whom interned at leading responsible businesses including impact investing, social impact consulting, CSR, and international development. This is rescheduled from November due to low sign-ups. Please register for the event on campusgroups as any event with less than 20 sign-ups will be cancelled.
- Inaugural IESE – ESADE responsible business field trip. Come join us on Saturday, March 22 for a sustainable fishing trip in Costa Brava. This is a partnership with the ESADE Responsible Business Club.
Club & Conference Succession
- Are you interested in leading the club & conference? Each year the president or presidents choose how they want to manage the club and the conference. If you are interested in being a president please email me prior to Friday, February 28 at 1pm.
- If you are truly interested, I ask that you not only come to DGDW this weekend, but have a critical mind so that you can determine what you like, and more importantly, what you don't like about the conference and would like to change if in the position to do so.
- On Saturday, March 1, I will contact those people whom have expressed interest to arrange the next steps, which will most likely include a light interview with the current team the week of March 3.
- The new president or presidents will be announced on March 6 following the internship panel.
Franz Heukamp once said to me, Matt, running DGDW is the most difficult student job in the MBA. Best of luck to you.
